DCANTER Alexandria

Old Town Alexandria, VA

DCANTER’s second location brings the boutique’s signature warmth and approachability to the ground floor of CityHouse Old Town. A fitting landing spot, King Street has the energy of a walkable, community-driven neighborhood that mirrors the Capitol Hill block where it all began.

At just under 880 square feet, the Old Town shop shows that intimacy is its own kind of luxury. The design embraces the compact footprint, layering natural wood wine racks and a dramatic ceiling structure to draw the eye inward and create the feeling of a larger space. Light pours in from the street frontage, washing over wood tone floors and linen-colored walls, while DCANTER’s signature mauve and orchid colors (carried through a bold accent wall, unique pendant lighting, and custom signage) signal that this is unmistakably a DCANTER space.

As guests step inside, the pink accent wall anchors the brand, while low wood shelving encourages browsing and discovery at eye level. From there, the space opens up to a retail floor organized around freestanding wine racks that double as island fixtures, inviting customers to move through the collection the way one might wander through a well-stocked personal cellar.

At the heart of the shop, a sculptural curved counter functions as both a point-of-sale and tasting bar, serving as a natural gathering point where staff and customers can connect over a glass of wine. A communal tasting table offers space for educational classes, casual events, and the kind of unhurried conversation that has always defined the DCANTER experience. A floating grid of oak beams calls back to the brand’s identity, while flexible track lighting ensures every bottle is illuminated.

The result is a curated retail space that is reflective of the woman-owned business that has spent over a decade making wine feel less intimidating and more joyful. Old Town, meet DCANTER.
