| This new construction four-story plus penthouse multi-family building is located on a stretch of Kennedy Street NW in Brightwood Park that has seen an explosion of infill development in recent years. The evolving streetscape presented a challenge when it came to designing a building that fits the context of the neighborhood. The façade design combines traditional brick and divided light windows with more modern features like an angled bay, smooth panel materials, and expansive openings to blend the old with the new.
The project consists of thirty 1 and 2 bedroom units, three of which are dedicated for Inclusionary Zoning. Full-size and Juliet balconies are provided wherever possible to provide a connection to the outdoors. Interior lightwells are strategically placed, taking advantage of the form of the new development next door, to provide ample natural light and air to internalized units. Additionally, the penthouse features generous public and private roof decks surrounded by green roof. |
