GreenHousePAB (Point Access Block)
Denver, CO
GreenHouse Point Access Block is a twenty-unit multi-family rental building designed to foster community engagement while maximizing outdoor space. Each unit features private outdoor areas, access to a shared rooftop garden and recreation space, and the option to utilize a communal gathering room.
A gently curved, single oversized stairway connects all six floors, with generous landings that create opportunities for neighbors to interact. Flexible unit layouts accommodate changing family needs, while an open central space ensures light and air flow through the building. Instead of a typical setback, elevated porches provide both outdoor living space and a buffer from the street which contributes to the overall wellness of the inhabitants.
This design demonstrates how point access block buildings can enhance density in Denver’s Capitol Hill neighborhood (and the country at large), making better use of deep, narrow infill lots while preserving a human-scaled, community-driven living environment.
